 30 second Speech by Bryan Dyson (CEO of Coca Cola)
"Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them - Work , Family , Health , Friends and Spirit and you're keeping all of these in the Air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back.

But the other four Balls - Family, Health, Friends and Spirit - are made of glass. If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it.

5 ways to discover your Gift or Talent

“How many of you are working for a pay cheque? And how many of you are working for your life’s mission?

We all hear this very often “Sachin is a gifted Batsman, Shaharukh is gifted actor, Lata Mangeshkar is gifted singer and so on”. We all get inspired by these people who are rich, famous and successful in their life. We want to be like one of them in future. But then comes a voice from inside with an excuse that we are not gifted or talented enough to be rich, famous and successful like them.

Do you think God is Partial? No, he has made all of us the same way and we all are gifted equally. Each one of us has something which comes to us very easily. There are some things which we do effortlessly and still can achieve amazing results. If you develop them and put to work then you have the beginning of a great career or a business.

It is very difficult for all of us to list down these gifts but believe me we all have at least 5 or sometimes 10 such abilities that are as much a part of you as your smile or laughter. Often our family members and friends know our gifts and talents better than we do, why? Because they are such a natural part of us, many times we barely notice them.

Not all of us are so fortunate that someone will come and tell us what is our gift? But we all have the right to know our gifts. Today I am sharing with you 5 ways of discovering your gift;

1. What is that one thing which you do effortlessly and people find it difficult?

Go back to your childhood, school or college days. What was the one thing which you would do easily or effortlessly? It could have been either learning a new language, solving puzzle, mastering video games, reassembling machine or electronic gadgets, drawing, painting or anything else? Wasn’t this for which people would seek your help? That very thing was your gift. So go back and find out that one thing and look for the opportunity available around you to do something with that gift.

2. What is the one thing which you just love to do?

Forget about the attention or importance people used to give you for something but remember those moments when you felt joy and happiness after doing something. It could be anything which I have mentioned in my first point or some crazy little things or some not very popular things E.g. Understanding the pet’s language, body building, writing, acting, dancing and so on... I have read an interview of women. She was passionate about flowers since her childhood. Then she mastered the art of expressing different emotions through flowers and today she is one of the renowned florist in South Mumbai. So from these crazy interests you can discover your passion and master the skill to make a career out of it.

3. What is the one thing which you would like to change around you either in people or in the system?

Since I have reached to an understanding of how things work, why some people are so successful and some are not and so on. I have understood the value of self-improvement, goal setting and leadership. But I always worried why majority of people don’t pay attention towards these things. There are many examples when student from IIT or IMI have started an NGO or are doing something to change the world. So look around and see what disturbs you the most and see if you can improve it through some profession.

4. Understand the message from Universe or God. Opportunities which come to you just like that?

We all get intuitions or you can call it inner voice. 90% of people prefer experience and knowledge over intuitions. Sometimes few situations come into our life when we are forced to do something. Some opportunities came to us that we didn’t find interesting at that moment or in their present format. But all these things if looked at carefully will guide you towards your highest potential.

5. Last but not the least. Ask this to yourself “Do I enjoy and love what I am doing right now? If answer is yes, then this is your gift/passion. And if your answer is “No” then start from point number 1 and find your gift.

Once you become aware of your gifts and talents, your life can begin to change. How? Your confidence goes up because you start to realize how gifted and talented you really are.  You begin to recognize and take advantage of more opportunities to excel when you realize "I can do that!"  When you start to notice the gifts and talents, you can start thinking about how to take them to the next level of development. Over time, as more ideas keep surfacing, your ideas about who you are and what you can do will keep on evolving. So my friend, discover your gift and excel in life…..
